UWI Response – Professor Kevin Fenton

UWI Mona Campus Alum, Professor Kevin Fenton, is leading an inquiry into the impact of the COVID-19 virus on the BAME group in the UK. Data has shown that persons of the BAME Group, which refers to Black, Asian, Minority and Ethnic have been disproportionately affected by the virus. Fenton, who is a visiting Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health, is also Regional Director for London at Public Health England. His work informs policy actions that are instrumental to the well-being of communities that predominantly constitute the Caribbean diaspora in the UK. This urgent inquiry commissioned by the UK government, aims to report findings by the end of May 2020.
