Hendrickson, Schnoor, among AFUWI 2019 Honourees

Kevin Hendrickson, Chairman, Courtleigh Hotel Group; Anya Schnoor, Executive Vice President, Retail Products, Canadian Banking, Scotiabank; Film Director, Malcolm Lee; Dr. the Hon. Hubert Minnis, Prime Minister of the Bahamas and Hon. Sharlene Cartwright Robinson, Premier of the Turks & Caicos Islands have been honoured by the American Foundation for the University of the West Indies (AFUWI) at the AFUWI 22nd Annual Legacy Awards Gala at the Pierre Hotel, New York on February 27, 2019.
Her Excellency Pennelope Beckles, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago to the United Nations and President of UN Women also received the University of the West Indies Alumni Association (UWIAA) Pelican Award, presented by the Association to graduates of The UWI who have excelled in their chosen fields and have made significant national, regional or international impact.
The AFUWI, a registered US Charity, annually hosts the Gala and other events, raising funds for scholarships at The UWI.
This year Jamaican artiste Chris Martin headlined an “After Party” hosted by Rapper “Beat Boxer” Doug E Fresh.
