The Other Universals Project-UWI Scholarship
Applications are now open for the Other Universals Project-UWI Scholarship. Any registered student pursuing a doctoral programme at The UWI is eligible. This is a one-year scholarship for the value of $9,000. Two scholarships are available.
The Other Universals Project seeks to widen circuits of knowledge production by attending to social and political thought as well as artistic practices from postcolonial locations. It aims to facilitate comparative scholarship on intellectual and artistic traditions that have emerged in the wake of struggles against colonialism and movements to refuse subordination and negation as embodied, for example, in blackness, orientalism, untouchability, and non-normative sexualities in 19th and 20th century Africa, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and South Asia
All applications should be emailed to both the Principal Investigator: Dr. Aaron Kamugisha at aaron.kamugisha@cavehill.uwi.edu and to otheruniversalsuwi@gmail.com. Deadline is July 15, 2019.
For further details, please see the regulations attached or contact Dr. Aaron Kamugisha, Principal Investigator and Senior Lecturer in Cultural Studies, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus at aaron.kamugisha@cavehill.uwi.edu
