
T&T Trembles: 6.2 quake
ALL cardinal points of Trinidad and Tobago were rocked by an earthquake Tuesday around 5.45 p.m., with the UWI Seismic Research Centre later giving a preliminary reading of 6.1 on the Richter Scale.
Citizens took immediately to social media site Facebook to state that the shake-up was the worst most of them had ever felt.

The location of the ‘quake was given as Latitude: 11.04N and Longitude: 60.70W, with a origin depth of 29 kilometres, with its centre closer to Scarborough, Tobago.
According to the University of the West Indies, it was felt 16 km SSE of Scarborough, 78 km NE of Arima and 99 km NE of Port of Spain.
The UWI Seismic Research Centre stated on its Facebook page that the event has not been reviewed by an analyst and was automatically located by a seismological computational system.
It is therefore a preliminary result and this may vary when new additional data is processed. Read more
