
UWI Press Books named among finalists for 2019 International Book Awards.
The University of the West Indies Press (UWI Press) is pleased to announce that three of its books were named finalists in the 2019 International Book Awards (IBA). American Book Fest announced the winners and finalists of the awards earlier this month. More than 400 winners and finalists were announced in over 90 categories for titles published from 2017 to 2019. The UWI Press finalists include:
My Political Journey: Jamaica’s Sixth Prime Minister by P.J. Patterson is a finalist in the Autobiography/memoir category;
Beryl McBurnie by Judy Raymond is a finalist in the biography category and
Free, A Novel by Martin Mordecai is a finalist in the fiction: general category.
Jeffrey Keen, President and CEO of American Book Fest noted that this year’s awards yielded over 2,000 entries from authors and publishers around the world, which were then narrowed to the final results.
